last night i met the Lord again, after a long while and of all places, at a wake.
the Bible says that where two or three people come together in God's name, then He is there with them. He was there when, in remembering the life and reflecting on the death of the father of an old college friend, we sang songs to glorify Him for the promises He keeps: His comfort amidst grief, His joy amidst sadness, His victory over death.
it was a tender moment for me as i rediscovered the faith i'd accepted more than a decade ago: a choice that's irrevocably shaped who i am now and which dictates the principles that i believe, in my heart, to hold the most sense in this less than understandable world. basking in the company of fellow believers, i was taken back to a time when His word was my daily bread and everything, especially falling leaves, was an answered prayer seen through His eyes.
i miss it. how do i go back?
