45. reblogging: flying man!

1st published Apr 8, '09

almost three years ago today, and the same restlessness again. 29-year old me should remember to check in on this entry, too, and perhaps judge if it's worth another recycled post. too much or too little, Time sure is a tricky currency.

------------------------------
every five minutes or so i would stare at the time displayed on the pc start bar and wonder what other places Time has chosen to dawdle in on Its way here, since It sure hasn't passed by my corner of the universe for the last thirty minutes or so. no matter that i've been positively itching to welcome It already.

where could It be? what the heck's keeping It? why isn't It here yet? i ask these different variants of a question as i tap my toe to a random beat. maybe It's decided to have a pit stop somewhere ala amazing race, Its attention caught by human drama more palatable than mine. even as i write, It might be admiring the doomed efforts of a person cramming for a paper due an hour from now. or maybe It now sits on a bench where two lovers are, bidding their tearful goodbyes for a morning all too short. It could also be watching a telenovela while perched on a housewife's armchair, smitten by a cliffhanger episode of death and explosion.

who knows? maybe the reason why Time hasn't arrived yet is because it's suddenly stopped. maybe being exposed to the desperate intensity of my gaze has dented the time-space continuum connected to the pc time setting, and later on i will discover that i can teleport myself to london in the year 2099, survive from mutated smog and bask in london rain. maybe i am hiro nakamura the philippine female version now, and i'm supposed to save the world from the impending clash of world civilizations (the idea of which is gratefully lifted from samuel huntington circa early 1990s) as i time travel back and forth with the facial expression of chronic constipation.

maybe. but who am i kidding? what once was 1144 an eternity ago is now 1145. imagine that! a minute flew by without me even noticing. no time-space warp after all. Time hasn't forgotten me. It's just having too much fun at my expense, mocking me with Its glacial pace.

  1. This is gossip. Before magiging laos to. :)

Lala, have an amusing anecdote to tell you. the hr officer (you know where) didn't like me so much, i could tell.

'cause she had lit up and joked with my make co-interviewees before, smiling for them.

i noticed she didn't have the same bright smile for me, hehe.

human insight? am i purveyor now of human nature, watchful of discreet but telltale nuances of human behavior, able to tell it to the world? Hihihihihi. ^_^

    Love,

    guess who.
