at first, i had to blink. is this a dream? i thought. and then i had to smile. from the chuckles beside me, i gathered my fellow commuters were as just
it (hereafter dubbed the phenomenon/the wonder/the unlikely) was still just at guadalupe station though. and however meek and unnaturally silent they entered the train, i could still feel a tension emanating, and it was a taut rope that held them from regressing to the bouncing rays of sunshine i've been familiar with for years. maybe it was the small number of people waiting, or maybe it was that everyone else was complying, or maybe, just maybe, they had finally seen the light of order and had chosen to bask in the simple peace of its wisdom.
maybe. but who cares? it still takes my breath away.
